INTERCOUNTY CHAMPIONSHIPS - MENS OVER 45

Held at Whitecross Tennis and Squash Club –
Hereford on 2nd/3rd Dec 2006
Somerset performed well in First Stage of the InterCounty Championships to finish second. On day 1 of the weekend they
comfortably beat Herefordshire 4-1 (19-8) and then proceeded to beat
Gloucestershire 3-2 (14/10) in a closely fought match. On day 2 they faced
Dorset to decide positions 1 & 2. Although both sides were well
lubricated from the night before the first 3 matches were closely
contested with 2 matches levelled at 2-2 but eventually Dorset won all
three. Somerset finally went down 5-0 to a strong Dorset side.
